“Innovate or die” says management guru Tom Peters, and he’s exaggerating, as always, isn’t he?

Or could it be, that innovation does serve survival? Then, every living thing would be innovative per definition, or would live in an environment without pressure of change.


There is definitely a pressure of change for companies in constantly changing markets - and, therefore a permanent need to adapt to a changing environment. Innovation, then, is rather a 'must have' then a 'nice to have'.

Some companies or organisations love to run ahead. For them, innovation works like respiration: as a never ending exchange with the environment.
